Our multi-award-winning Barnsley Bitter is brewed using the finest quality Maris Otter malt and English hops. Chestnut in colour, it delivers a well-rounded, rich flavour with a lasting bitter finish. Brewed using yeast strains originally used in the 1850s to produce the original Barnsley Bitter, it remains true to its heritage.
Barnsley Bitter has received consistent recognition on both national and international stages, including SIBA Gold for Cask in 2023 and Gold in KEG in 2024. It has also won Silver at the Great British Beer Festival in 2006 and 2015, Bronze in 2018, and has been a finalist on multiple occasions between 2007 and 2019.
Most recently, it was awarded Gold for Cask Conditioned Beer – Class 1 (ABV 2.9%–3.8%) at the International Brewing Awards 2026, often referred to as the “Oscars of brewing.”
