We are looking for a New General Manager to join the team at Acorn.

We are looking for a well organised, enthusiastic individual to join and lead the production and sales team, the successful individual will be an experienced leader within the brewery industry, they will be responsible for all aspects of brewery operations: brewing, packaging, warehousing, distribution, stock control as well as the management of customer accounts and sale of the products. They will be competent in planning and scheduling production based on forecasted sales. Maintain and execute all functions according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice.

  • People management
    • Lead the Sales, Production and Delivery team
    • React quickly to solve problems
    • Main point of contact for all support, training and ad hoc queries for the office and Production team  
    • Manage monthly 121 reviews
    • Ensure all members of staff are sufficiently trained to perform their roles safely and efficiently
    • Management of staff recruitment
    • Carry out inductions and initial training
    • Management of HR questions
    • Management of payroll
    • Communicate regularly and efficiently with all staff
  • Managing production
    • Ensure that upkeep of site is maintained in line with SIBA FSQ & SALSA for Beer
    • Responsibility of raw material including purchasing, goods in/out records managed on Brewman Production
    • Responsibility of non-raw material stock 
    • Ensure all require documentation is maintained
    • Ensuring that all required audits are kept in date
    • Accountability for site H&S requirements
    • Management of stock
    • Creating brew scheduled – Forecast sales and plan production to meet requirements.
    • Oversee quality controls
    • Management of logistics
    • Monitoring all aspect of the brew, including, Monitor gravities, temperatures daily
    • Development of new and existing recipes
    • Management of supplier relationships
  • Managing non production
    • Responsibility of sales figures 
    • Ensuring that Brewman sales (CRM) is maintained and relevant
    • Responsibility of customers aged debtors
    • Ensure growth of sales is driven and achieved
    • Responsibility for managing marketing campaigns
    • Supporting, when required, with sales
    • Responsibility of brewery swaps
    • Management of IT Subscription
    • Responsibility of the Acorn Websites (sales and main site)  
    • Ensure that relevant reports sale reports are managed
    • Maintenance of supplier contract
    • Overseeing IT requirements meet the business needs
    • Representing Acorn various tours, events, festivals and other promotions

Skills and Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in brewing industry
    • Customer service/sales skills
    • Experience managing staff
    • Brewing or related degree preferred
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Excellent Communication Skill
    • Full UK Driving License
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills
    • The capability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
