We’re delighted to announce that the brewery picked up a bronze award for ‘Darkness’ Mild Ale in the Champion Beer of Great Britain competition.
Darkness was up against beers from brewers across the country and the award was presented at a gala dinner evening at London’s Olympia Hilton hotel. This was the culmination of almost a year of local tasting panels and regional heats ahead of the final competition at CAMRA’s Great British Beer Festival at Olympia.
Acorn’s Managing Director Dave Hughes said ‘this is another huge achievement for the brewery and great recognition of all the hard work that the team put in to producing our beers’.
The Brewery is no stranger to success at these awards as this most recent achievement follows on from the Silver certificate awarded to Barnsley Bitter in last year’s event. Barnsley Bitter also reached the finals again this year and has now featured in the final round of judging on no less than 8 occasions. Dave Hughes also commented, ‘we are so pleased that Barnsley Bitter made it through to the finals again, it’s real acknowledgement that we can consistently brew great quality beer that is appreciated by a panel of the most respected tasting judges in the country.
